School-Age Care
School-age child care for kindergarten to grade 7 children is provided in DLG Multipurpose Rooms 111 and 113.
There are opportunities for indoor and outdoor play with a variety of individual, small group and large group activities.
Enrollment
Priority is given to children enrolled at DLG. Siblings of children enrolled in a STFC program will be given priority over others.
Extra Support
Children who require extra support due to physical, mental or behavioral challenges will join the appropriate age-level program. All Staff work with the children with added support Staff in a variety of different Staff / children ratios.
Age Groups
Explorers: 5 and 6 year old children in kindergarten and grade 1. Explorers are taken to and picked up from their classrooms.
There is a ratio of 1 staff to 12 children.
Discovery Club: 6 to 9 year old children in grades 2 to 3. Children are taken to and picked up from their classrooms.
There is a ratio of 1 staff to 15 children.
Adventure Club: 9 to 12 year old children in grades 4 to 7.
There is a ratio of 1 staff to 15 children.
Some groups may join together for a shared activity. Moving from Discovery Club to Adventure Club may depend on a child’s choice, maturity or available space.
